Arriving earlier than anticipated on the train from London, I had some time to kill in Bognor and I decided to have a look around the place I had not encountered for decades. As it turned out, it was somewhat more of a trip to the zoo than I had anticipated. So many more foreign accents than Sussex... And there seemed to be zombielike vagrants appearing from all angles!
Seeking to somewhat rekindle my jaded view of what was once the British royal family's favourite seaside town, I popped into Macari's for some nostalgic snackage!
After standing around trying to decide what I would like to order, it struck me! I - need - a - BANANA - SPLIT!!!
That was it. That was my answer. I placed my order with the friendly Eastern European lady behind the counter only to have her colleague remind her that they were out of bananas! Fail!
When they finally produced some babanas from a local store she set about her masterpiece of ice cream... and delicious it was! It was even aethetically pleasing.
My childhood memories of the seaside were gladly restored. Well done Macari's! -

Popular cafe on Bognor's main pedestrianised street. I only had a chocolate milkshake so no opinion on the food.
The shake was fine and the service efficient. The menu looked pretty extensive and the cooked breakfast includes bubble & squeak.
Comfy seating with on-street area too so not a bad spot to settle into to watch folk going about their day. -

Great place to have a coffee and catch up with family/friends. It can get very busy but generally spacious and staff are friendly

Quite a large sized cafe and always very busy. It sells a selection of hot meals and snacks as well as sandwiches, paninis, ice creams and cakes. Great place to take a break whilst out shopping. Can be a bit expensive but good once in a while.

A large cafe/ restaurant with plenty of seating. They do a very nice creamy coffee, and offer snacks and meals. The tables are cleared frequently. A family run business, very friendly.
